VoIP expansion attracts new cyber crime trend

"The move into stealing usernames and passwords which are routinely sent across the network when a [VoIP] call is made, is a worrying new trend."
The observation was made by Dave Gladwin, vice president of products at Newport Networks, and reported by the BBC news site.
"It is still at an embryonic stage but as voice adoption increases it becomes more of a problem and needs addressing," said Mr Gladwin.The report gives Skype a clean bill of health in terms of vulnerability.
