Connecting Nokia's "Beautifully Uncomplicated Mobiles?"

by Sniffer | posted on 27 October 2006

What you might make of it, if someone said to you: "Let's get nekkid and get together!" is not the point. What matters is what Nokia means by "connecting people." That, and of course, the question of where the you keep your mobile phone.

This last is, you'll see by the illustration, an important question - raised by the latest Nokia 6233 3G phone, which is being advertised currently as a "BU" Mobile - "Beautifully Uncomplicated."

If you can't see the illustration, the BU M is shown in a foreground shot. The background is a couple on the beach, with a rear view of the two users. They've left their togs on the sand. Where on earth have they put their phone..?

Just what sort of mobile is a BUMobile? According to Jin Khang Ong: "With its sophisticated looks, the Nokia 6233 will be right at home in any business person's hand." Jin test drives the 6233, and claims to be impressed with the display, build quality, and stereo speakers. And the review goes on: "The 6233 is aimed at business users. There are no fancy designs, no swiveling keypads, nothing that stands out at all. It is designed to look serious."

So it's "business networking" we see in the advert? Oh, good...! But it does leave us still wondering... I mean, they do actually have a phone, those two? Is it going to be washed away, and be re-born as a PEBL? Or is there a deeper, darker mystery to be probed...?
