Teaser: what on earth is a Bluetooth chip maker doing in VoIP?
by Sniffer | posted on 23 August 2006
Wireless technology company Cambridge Silicon Radio is set to bring VoIP to the mass market - or so it hints. It looks as if it is planning the launch of a new wireless VoIP phone.
No details will be available for another two weeks, or more, says the company, which is planning a briefing for mid-September. Actual availability dates are a tightly guarded secret.
But a company spokesman has revealed that the development "will allow manufacturers to produce VoIP phones at a significantly lower cost than anything currently available." CSR has designed the phone to be configured to work "out of the box" for broadband network/VoIP service providers for example.Tags: CSR, VoIP
