The first Cobalt phone - a scoop for the guys at All About Palm - was launched at Palm Devcon last week. That's good news for PalmSource, because some observers (The Boss, for example!) were starting to be sceptical about the new Palm OS version.

Your Sniffer was delighted to find that Ewan had discovered a new phone from Oswin. "Hiding in the dark corners of PalmSource DevCon is the Oswin Technologies Coral phone. Oswin is an ODM who design and build phones for other comapnies to sell. Their 'Coral' hardware demonstration phone is a candybar design, designed and running Cobalt 6.1.1. And very nice the software is too. Having seen the final production designs of the units, the Oswin unit could be a great way for a company to enter the smartphone market," enthused our enterprising Scots developer-journo.

Imagine the Hunky Mouse's disappointment to discover that the All About Palm site was down - or, at least, inaccessible for the time being. Nothing to do, if we had to sniff out the whole story, except rely on the Google cache.

So we asked Google very kindly to find any stories from allaboutpalm which mentioned Oswin. Google News found exactly none. Odd. We asked for any stories from allaboutpalm. None.

Being socially conscious, we decided to report this to Google. We found a page  with a link for "all other feedback" and clicked...

Not Found

And then, as a final insult, Google asked: "Did you mean: allaboutislam"?
