Google reports Google for spamming NewsWireless!
by Sniffer | posted on 17 May 2009
We've been low on Bluetooth stories, recently. The news wasn't coming in - which is odd. Today, we found out why: spam filter insanity.
We get out email through Gmail. One of the benefits of using Gmail is that it makes it really easy to set up a "Google Alert" on any keyword you like. So, a few years back, we set up a Bluetooth Alert with Google (BAG?) and scanned it on a daily basis for surprises.
Today, on a routine scan of Gmail's (normally excellent) spam basket, we found out where these alerts have been going: yes! - they are marked as spam by Google itself.
Shome mishtake, shurely...? (hic).
