LocustWorld "mesh billing system nearly Finnished" - report from Helsinki
by Guy J Kewney | posted on 14 March 2008
The online "instant access to Internet" billing system announced by Mesh supplier LocustWorld in January is now in the final stages of being "internationalised" with local language versions being written.
The payment system allows Mesh AP Pro users (network operators) to provide a commercial wireless hotspot system.
It takes PayPal, WordPay, Protx and other payments systems - as well as scratchcard options for local shops in the mesh catchment area.
Users can sign up for a day, a week or a month.
According to sources in Helsinki, the Swedish language version is now complete, and "we're nearly Finnished with the local one," with new Mesh networks starting to spring up around the capital city.
