3GSM: Texting replaces freefone reponse system for marketing, says PageOne
by Guy J Kewney | posted on 10 February 2007
PageOne’s FreeText solution, which mimics the use of free-phone 0800 numbers, is a way to encourage customers or the public to contact an organisation without incurring a charge.
Businesses and public sector organisations of all sizes will be able to set up and manage SMS Short Code campaigns in minutes thanks to a new service launched by PageOne," said the managing director, Chris Jones. "The new service offers marketeers two different Short Code services – and StandardText Short Codes – which address the differing needs of varying marketing campaigns."
He added“Short Codes are a highly flexible and cost effective customer and employee contact strategy that can be utilised by organisations of any size or sector. Bringing our substantial experience in providing communication solutions, PageOne is one of the first operators to adapt the flexibility and ease of use of Short Codes for use in business and public sector applications."
For example, FreeText Short Codes allow an organisation’s customers to ‘text in’ for free to request the latest brochure from a business, or report vandalism or fly tipping to a local authority just as simply as if calling a free phone telephone number - except Short Codes remove the need for a call centre to take the call, driving down the service costs.
PageOne will be exhibiting at the 3GSM World Congress, stand number F56. More info from www.pageone.co.uk and full announcement in the press release.
