Event: the Symbian Wireless Developer Forum, at Cannes

by Staff Writer | posted on 03 February 2005

Alongside the 3GSM Congres will be many other events: this year, watch out for programmers attending the Wireless Developer Forum - Monday 14th - 17th February 2005, Palais des Festivals, Cannes.

This forum is the main reason that Symbian has announced its OS 9 operating system two weeks before the show. The plan is that once OS 9 is taken off the "NDA list" other people can feel free to announce their own derivatives and tools and other bits and pieces on the periphery - and these will be released over the next few days.

Here's the official blurb: "The Wireless Developer Forum is a unique Forum aimed at the mobile developer community, held at 3GSM, the world's premier mobile event. Symbian is hosting a track at this event on Tuesday 15 th February."

Symbian's track at the Developer Forum "is designed to give you access to all the information, tools and technology required to create applications for the new generation of mass market, advanced feature rich, programmable mobile phones."

The Wireless Developer Forum was launched last year, at 3GSM 2004, and there were enough developers there to mean that with five track "owners" and 250 delegates, everybody voted for a repeat.

"Significant improvements have been made for 2005, including being within the Palais and a more flexible delegate pricing structure," says Symbian.

The Wireless Developer Forum will run alongside 3GSM in Auditorium K on Level 4 of the Palais.
