The "official" 3GSM news service... on a mobile, of course!
by Guy Kewney | posted on 03 February 2005
It goes without saying that the 3GSM delegate who really wants the Hot News will load NewsWireless into the notebook. Or at the least, subscribe to our RSS news feed. But Volantis has an alternative.
Here's the official press release: "Volantis Takes ‘3GSM Daily’ Mobile for 3GSM 2005" - Cannes visitors - and people around the world - will enjoy the latest show news direct from their mobile phones."
Volantis formats content for delivery to small screens. They call it Intelligent Content Adaptation and this has been officially selected as the official exclusive provider of the official mobile service for 3GSM Daily, the official newspaper at 3GSM World Congress, the world’s official premier mobile industry event which attracts 28,000 plus official visitors, 650 exhibitors and unofficial participation from 173 countries.
Yes, we are publicising a rival news source. And the reason: well, anybody who has actually been to 3GSM will know without being told. But for the newcomers, the nice thing about 3GSM daily is that you get all the press releases that have been produced by all the exhibitors at the show that day, every day. In a big, heavyweight glossy newspaper, which you can carry around. And develop strong shoulders, and dislocate your cervical vertebrae...
This way, it will all fit into your mobile phone for the duration of the event from the 14th – 17th February.
Direct your mobile browsers to http://3gsm.telecoms.com and meet Volantis at the Upside Down Restaurant, opposite the Palais des Festivales.
