Mobile? Aren't we overdoing it?

Mobile executives are something else ...

Sniffer

While we're waiting for the excitement of mobile data pioneers at Sony Ericsson to show what the new company is made of, the senior staff in St James's Square are worrying about mobility on a different scale.

Sniffer has wasted several hours sniffing on the wrong lines in recent weeks. Eventually, after trying to phone people who used to be key, crucial, important executives and finding blank voicemail, Sniffer lost patience and descended to the last resort - and rang the PR agency.

"I get the impression that some Ericsson people are mobile," he suggested.

"What can you mean?" asked the publicity hack.

Sniffer listed one or two names, one or two job titles. "Are they still there?"

Apparently, they are all there, but just "moving around" a little. "I'll get back to you with their new titles," said the mouthpiece for Sony Ericsson.

Which isn't what Sniffer has heard; we're more under the impression that people have been coming from the Sony components side, and people have been going, or allowed to go, from the Ericsson phone side. No doubt, the proper announcements will be made it due course ...
