Mobile convergence conf: web site has teeth!
by Sniffer | posted on 27 May 2002
If you haven't registered yet for "The European Wireless Mobility Event" or Mobile Convergence 2002, be warned: the registration process takes no prisoners.
Our Sniffer showed up in the router missing a few header bytes and with a definite sign of buffer-underfly after visiting the registration pages of Mobile Convergence 2002.
The cheese: free registration for the first 100 qualifying delegates to Monte Carlo. Sniffer filled in the form with alacrity and eagerness. But at NewsWireless Net, staff are encouraged not to use fax; so Sniffer obediently didn't fill out that field.
Horror! Not only did Mobile Convergence's web site complain loudly, but it threw away the entire form, forcing Sniffer to log on again, and fill in every field - including a couple of paragraphs of detailed explanation of why he should be taken seriously.
The conference runs from June 8 to June 11 in the Principality of Monaco; hopefully, they'll have picked up all the carbon fibre bits and pieces littering the roads after the recent Grand Prix motor racing event by then. And someone teach the organisers how to format a web page form!
