Bluetooth midnight oil runs out; honesty accidentally achieved?
by Sniffer | posted on 14 June 2002
Of course, the Network Sniffers of the world were monitoring the wires last night, as the GSM Association finalised its approval of the new OMA. Unexpected candour emerged ...
The press release which emerged in the wee hours of Friday morning - packet headers show a time of around 1.00 AM - would seem to indicate that there was an attempt to smooth over any previous disagreements. [See our earlier story about the formation of the Open Mobile Alliance.]
However, we think it was probably going too far to say, as the GSM Association's press release did, that "the formation of the Open Mobile Alliance is also entirely complimentary to the goals of the GSMA's M-Services Initiative ... "
That'll be "complementary," chasps ... unless your admiration has expanded rather surprisingly?
