So, 24 million convenience stores in Portugal?
by Sniffer | posted on 09 May 2003
Mystery? No, a simple misprint, which shouldn't have been corrected.
Our Sniffer found packets inside Microsoft. They were very specific: it said: "TMN, will distribute the Smartphone nationally through ... the leading oil and gas company's 24 million convenience stores, petrol stations and retailers this summer."
We did our sums, and checked the stats. Portugal, population 10 million. Hmm ... Can't be right, can it? So we phoned an Official Source.
"No, we have no record of the number of outlets. What we can tell you, however, is that Galp's retain chain is known as the M24 chain. Do you suppose someone has corrected the M24 so it shows as 24m ... ?"
It wasn't the Hunky Mouse who got it wrong! Honest!
