Successful EWT wireless show will repeat next November
by Guy Kewney | posted on 04 October 2002
Over 2,000 delegates showed up for the new "Enterprise Wireless Technology" show at Olympia this week, to the delight of organisers Reed Exhibitions - and they will "definitely" be repeating the show November next year, at the same venue.
It's hardly a rival to Comdex. However, in this still-small and growing industry, the industry leaders took booth space, and the right sort of end-user seems to have showed up for both the exhibits and the seminar sessions.
"Despite the Tube strike, it looks like 828 people arrived for the first day; and the second day, over 1,300 arrived," said an executive at Reed. "So we're really pleased, and will run it again next year."
Dates for next year are different; it will be 24-25 November 2003. As this year, however, the seminar sessions will be part of the show, not a paid-for extra. But there may have to be some bigger conference spaces, after it was standing room only at at least one session - the "Business Opportunities with WiFi Hotspots" session, chaired by the Editor-in-Chief of NewsWireless Net.
