jetNEXUS Brings Application Delivery Control to the Masses

As we enter the next generation of the Internet and cloud computing, the reliance on access
to data held anywhere across the globe becomes more critical than ever.
Fundamental to this accessibility is ADC or Application Delivery Control, a technology that is
historically complex and expensive. However, jetNEXUS’ ALB-X (Accelerating Load Balancer
Extreme) technology provides guaranteed server availability and application delivery at an
affordable price.
The ALB-X product, available as a dedicated appliance or as a virtual appliance (for VMware),
significantly undercuts the cost of rival products in either form factor, while offering full Layer 4
to Layer 7 load balancing and traffic management capabilities. Features include Connection
Management, Compression, SSL Offload as well as Content Caching. Content Caching is
usually an expensive and complex to configure add-on which dramatically reduces data
access times as well as reducing the number of physical server and license requirements.
One customer has reported that it now serves 94% of all its content from the ALB-X cache,
meaning huge operational costs savings as well as massive performance gains. In addition to
this, jetNEXUS application acceleration comes as standard, meaning that pages can be
delivered, in many cases, more than twice as fast, using significantly less bandwidth.Steve Broadhead, Founder & Director of independent test labs, Broadband-Testing,
explained: “Results from the MyWebAlert website monitoring service have proved that web
server downtime, application and service availability are still major issues for online platforms.
The problem has been for companies to find the right level of Load-Balancer or ADC that isn’t
over-engineered and vastly over-priced for their needs.
“The jetNEXUS products provide every critical feature for ensuring application and service
delivery, but are affordable for any small to medium business, not just the enterprise-level
guys. We are talking the kind of features that should be built into server OS’s but never will
be. In 2009, this is must-have stuff, not simply a ‘nice to have’.”
“The VA – Virtual Appliance – version of the ALB-X product takes the value proposition even
further - the full feature set with no specialist hardware requirement and zero real estate; it
just sits on a server as a virtual appliance,” he added.
