Inspiration for the diffident...

What would you think if you were a radio presenter who managed to get Elaine Paige on your show? Elated, obviously, excited... and above all, you'd hope that Paige would be fluent, interesting and articulate. Well, not Michael "Glory" Ball, of the BBC Radio 2 station...

Glory, I'll admit, isn't his normal name. Nor is the picture [top, right] his normal appearance. He's a DJ; and he had the original star of Evita on his show yesterday. So, who is Glory?

Simple answer: a fictional character - a Goddess from "Buffy, the Vampire Slayer" and someone with absolutely no doubts about self-image. The classic "Glory Moment" was probably a clip where, torturing a bound monk, she offers: "Really, I'm the victim here."

Michael's "Glory Moment came yesterday, when, after a fascinating interview with Paige, he thanked her, and then turned to the microphone and offered: "Did I actually get to say anything during that?"

At least he knows who the star of the show is meant to be. And it's not Paige, now, is it?
