Sometimes, a Web pic is better than a paper one...

Like many Guardian readers this morning, I was amazed to see Dick Cheney sharing his fishing boat with a naked lady. And as you can see from the enlarged detail of the picture [right] she's not all that gorgeous when you get to see her properly.
The image as printed in ink was, I must say, suggestive. Here it is, [below] exactly as it appears in the paper: dark, small, fuzzy.
But the full resolution image is available from the White House, and all you need to do is take Irfanview, select the lens, double the size, and increase the gamma settings. And suddenly, it's a fishing rod.
Funny how the mind prefers to see a naked young woman...
