"Only to be used with other Belkin kit" - warning on WiFi access point

It's been a while since I first started recommending that people don't "mix-n-match" on wireless networking equipment, and it's been good advice, generally. So I'm quite pleased to find a reader reporting that Belkin is now offering this advice on their packaging.
I can't promise that a Netgear router will break in a net with a Linksys switch, and you may be lucky. But play safe, is a good rule of thumb; make them both Netgear or both Linksys, and then excuses need not be dealt with.
The trouble is, Belkin's honesty is in the small print on the back panel of the box; not (as far as I can tell) in their marketing on the web site.
For example take the Belkin Range Extender, Part # F5D7132 - US catalog [above, right] - it is described on the site:
Designed for easy setup operation, it works seamlessly with most routers and access points, with the push of a button.Which is great! but that isn't what it says on the box.
So, if you have experienced compatibility issues with conflicting brands in WiFi wireless, could you share this with other readers? Click on the link here or below to post on our forum, please?
