3GSM - Ubiquisys goes for ´B´ round finance
by Guy J Kewney | posted on 13 February 2007
Venture capital delegates had the Ubiquisys party jammed last night in Barcelona, as the company decided to go for a new round of financing, and not the rumoured takeover, after all.
The news won´t surprise Disruptive Analysis´s Dean Bubbley, who predicted that an Avaya takeover would come to nothing, but there were a couple of very confused merchant bankers as a result.
Avaya was not unrepresented at the gathering, which was described as ´surprisingly enthusiastic´ by Ubiquisys directors. But founder Chris Gilbert was at pains to emphasise that as far as he was concerned, there was no special relationship there.
