Fon launches 'social WiFi' powered by Bluetab billing & settlement solution

Bluetab Solutions, a specialist billing and settlement startup, has heralded its launch with the announcement of its partnership with Fon, the Spanish community WiFi network.

Bluetab, an international technology and consulting business with offices in London and Madrid, has assembled a team with world-class billing & settlement expertise gained over many years with leading mobile operators and IT consulting firms.

The company has been working with Fon since March to build a state-of-the-art billing & settlement solution capable of managing complex events generated throughout Fon's distributed global network of WiFi sharers. Fon rolled out its 'social WiFi' services to paying customers for the first time earlier this month.

Jose Luis López, who led the initiative on site at Fon in Madrid, said: "We are very pleased to have the opportunity to work with an exciting, disruptive business such as Fon. We have managed to meet all of our stated objectives, delivering a powerful billing & settlement solution just three months after initiating the project".

Matthew Goodsall, a Director at Bluetab’s UK office, said: "We are absolutely delighted with the response we have had to our fresh approach to software consulting. We have found that many CTOs are fed up with overpriced and cumbersome legacy software from the incumbent vendors. They are very open to working with smaller, more flexible providers which can rapidly solve their problems with bespoke solutions at price points the larger vendors can't compete on".

"Whilst we aim to build long term relationships with our customers, we believe that this should be purely at the client’s discretion based on the quality and pricing of our work - not because they are locked in with expensive maintenance contracts".
