The world's most esoteric VoIP system: turn your Bluetooth mobile into a PC headset
by Guy J Kewney | posted on 10 September 2006
ROK Media may just have found the most niche-like way of selling voice over the Internet. To qualify, you need a PC, with Bluetooth and a mobile phone with bluetooth - and a friend with the same setup.
The story goes that you download free software onto your PC, and so does your friend. Then, with a Bluetooth mobile phone - it has to be one that is compatible - you connect to your PC, and call your friend.
And if your friend's computer is online and their phone connected to the computer, then it's exactly like using Skype from PC to PC, except you talk into the phone instead of a headset.
That's it. ""All you need do is download the free application from the website and start making calls for free to other Viper-enabled handsets" explained ceo Jonathan Kendrick; "It couldn't be simpler and even when you call non-Viper mobiles and landlines, the cost will be much, much lower than standard network charges."
that's it?
