The year 2010 will be the year "mobility comes of age," predicted HP Procurve VP John McHugh today - and it will mean that hotspots will be charged as just part of your mobile bill, he said.
McHugh gave the keynote at the NetEvents European Summit conference here in Garmisch, Germany in the snow - asked to look forward to the turn of the decade.
He also predicted that mobile storage would come of age. "Follow-me technology will introduce transparent storage mirroring over WiFi for PDAs and notebooks," he said. "But video phone calls will remain unpopular - just because people won't want to use video calls."
Procurve believes that Layer 3 will be the success story of the next three years. Further reports will follow
