Kansas City, MO - uclick mobile, well known for its GoComics comics application, today announces the release of its first branded mobile puzzle application, USA TODAY Sudoku.

Sudoku (sue-DOE-koo), a popular number puzzle has been widely successful for uclick, in both print and online distribution.  From small coffee shops in the U.K. to homes across the U.S., Sudoku has turned everyday puzzle players into Sudoku fanatics. Taking this game from the keyboard to the keypad was also a significant step forward in expanding uclick's growing catalogue of entertaining mobile content.

According to uclick CEO, Chris Pizey, "uclick is very excited to bring
USA TODAY Sudoku to the mobile market as our first branded mobile puzzle.
The strong brand of USA TODAY and the intuitive game play of our Sudoku
application is a perfect combination".

The USA TODAY Sudoku mobile application offers players the familiar 9x9
puzzle grid beloved by many so many fans. The puzzles are updated daily, Monday through Sunday and increase in difficulty over the week.  Users also have access to a month's worth of puzzles through the calendar archive feature.  The application has a high-score feature that allows users to track their best time for each level of difficulty.

The USA TODAY Soduku puzzle currently appears in the USA TODAY newspaper and on USATODAY.com.  More than 6 million readers see the USA TODAY Soduko puzzle each day.

"Launching a mobile version of this puzzle is an exciting opportunity for us to bring Soduko to mobile phone users for the first time. We know this endeavor with uclick will entertain existing Sudoku fans and make it even more popular," said Jeff Webber, senior vice president and publisher of USATODAY.com.

The application development work done by Skava, a leading producer of mobile games, has proven to be popular with carriers.  USA TODAY Sudoku is launching soon on Verizon with distribution through Cingular and T-Mobile slated for next month.

uclick's growing distribution of Sudoku puzzles in print and on the web coupled with an underlying complexity that makes players come back for more, means the mobile version is sure to keep mobile users busy on their keypads.

Says Pizey, "we are constantly looking for new and innovative ways to bring Sudoku to our growing puzzle fan base.  This new development with USA TODAY not only complements our online and printed versions but will pave the way for more interactive games on mobile phones."

Both the print and online Sudoku puzzles will carry promotion for the mobile Sudoku application while offering carrier branding as well.
