RFID centre set up in Dallas: Cold Storage and Cognizant together
by Guy Kewney | posted on 01 August 2005
“This RFID program is unique because it works in a live environment and includes the information management side of a complete RFID solution as well,” said Pete Henry, Head of Cognizant’s North American RFID Practice. “We expect to work with numerous suppliers and be able to quickly deliver many types of solutions from the centre.”
The centre is apparently aiming to provide solutions only in the Dallas area, but the combination of logistics provider and RFID expertise suggests that retail logistics people from further afield will be paying attention.
The India-based technology company just posted its second quarter results, showing revenue up 53% from $138.7m to $211.7m. However, Reuters of India reports that this failed to impress investors, who marked shares down 3% - apparently, because some customers are late with payments of bills.
