Samsung and Picsel strike global agreement to deliver real documents on normal phones

GLASGOW, UK 31st May, 2005 - Picsel Technologies, Ltd., a provider of solutions that enable intuitive interaction with rich content on small screen devices, and Samsung Electronics co., ltd., a leading mobile phone provider, today announced a partnership which will enable real documents to be delivered on normal phones. Samsung’s SCH-V650, and forthcoming SPH-V6500 are the first in a series of normal handsets to feature Picsel File Viewer functionality. Further Samsung products featuring Picsel solutions are due for release in various global regions throughout this year.
Other Samsung phones featuring Picsel solutions include the SCH-i539 (featuring Picsel Browser), SPH-V6000, SPH-V6050, SGH-i700, SCH-M400 and SPH-M4000 phones. From Picsel’s complete content delivery suite, Samsung has also selected Real-time Picture Scalar which delivers enhanced visual clarity and impressive magnification capabilities for pictures and video. Previous Samsung products utilising Picsel’s Real-time Picture and Video Scalar include the SCH-V500 and SCH-S250 feature phones.
Samsung phones featuring Picsel File Viewer set a new benchmark for browsing rich documents on the small screen. Delivering seamless support for Microsoft Office® (Word, Excel and Power Point), Adobe® PDF, Plain Text and Images, this revolutionary functionality is delivered through a uniquely intuitive user interface which actively encourages the user to download and interact with more content on smaller screens.
