Try out a new WiFi site survey beta program?
by Staff Writer | posted on 04 March 2005
The software to plan a WiFi hotspot is often expensive, and requires a team to install - so there are always people trying to simplify it. Covera Zone is the latest such: a beta-test version is launched today.
"I real world deployments, WLAN performance is difficult to predict and is rarely uniform within a coverage zone, often inducing dead spot problems," says the company, Paris (France) based Celtrio. "Covera Zone helps network engineers better understand this phenomenon and enables them to visually control wireless network quality by plotting coverage maps."
All you need to try it out is a Windows XP notebook running standard WiFi - 802.11 a/b/g - and some expertise, and the software free to download. Oh, and a map of the site...
Celtrio is a privately held company headquartered in Paris, France. For more information, visit www.celtrio.com.
