New Pack Box joins mini-ITX options for Mesh operators
by Staff Writer | posted on 31 January 2005
A new Mesh platform was launched by Via Technology founder Wenchi Chen in London today, following his presentation at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland at the weekend.
The new PC is designed by Wordsworth Technology - an established VIA oem, and the box is aimed at industrial applications.
"The Pack Box is the smallest mini-ITX platform available," said Locustworld marketing chief Richard Lander at the launch this morning. "It's similar to other Mesh boxes, but smaller, and has built in flanges that allow wall mounting."
The normal power supply is a car battery - 12V - but power over Ethernet will drive this economical box, says Wordsworth.
