SECRET documents change hands at Nokia thrash

Nokia launched a book, and introduced new executives. But strange goings-on seemed to be the order of the evening at Pearsons' HQ on the Strand last night ...
Nice to see Ukko Lappalainen, the new managing director of Nokia Phones, at last night's launch of the English language version of the Nokia book - "Nokia - the Inside Story" published by FT Prentice Hall. And nice to see Martti Haikio, author of the book, too.
But what was Chief Vulture (West Coast) Andrew Orlowski doing there? He's supposed to be The Register's Man In San Francisco. And what was he handing over to the two Nokia PR agents who cornered him? You'll never persuade us it was just a business card, Andrew ...
His agent said: "He always looks that furtive. It means nothing." Orlowski said: "There's no summer in San Francisco; it's always cold," before walking out into the rain. Hmm ... .
