Ban "microwave" masts? Why not ban TV, too!

The Mobile Campaign's recent trenchant piece on irrational fears of wireless radiation prompted this sympathetic reader comment:
Steve Hardy wrote: "Guy, a lot of the 'radiation scare' would die down if it was consistently pointed out that, if radiation from phone masts was harmful, then the same must be said of television transmitters on similar frequencies. In fact with their massively high power output it should be obvious that all urban terrestrial television should be shut down now!
And don't get me on to radar!
I imagine if the use of the whole radio spectrum were audited in relation to the power of the emitted field there would be so much we'd have to shut down we'd all become hippies ... now there's a thought."
