How to stand out in the mobile crowd: colour!

From the company which sells ordinary-looking notebooks as "mobile gaming solutions" comes another weird way of selling Centrino laptops: as "multi-faceted mobile systems for college students."

The new product is the "Area-51m Sentia" and if you've ever seen an Alienware product, you will probably cringe at the news that these, like the gaming platforms, come "with Exclusive Design And Colours."

As far as the casual observer can tell, the Area 51 machine is just another Centrino portable. Not so: it is "designed specifically for college students, and features a unique Alienware thin and light chassis design and extended battery life."

The Area-51m Sentia is "the ideal mobile system for any student, offering superior on-campus mobility as well as advanced capabilities in the classroom." In other words, it's another Centrino laptop, but it comes in "cool" colours.

Unless you visit the Alienware site, you won't believe the colours. "Conspiracy Blue, Cyborg Green, Majestic Blue, and Space Black" are on offer.

<1/> Cyborg Green, yet ...

"We've responded to the numerous requests for a mobile system that boasts convenience, performance and a unique style that is ideal for college and university students," said Kevin Wasielewski, vice president of marketing for Alienware Corporation. "Inspired by the success of our desktop systems, Alienware is proud to extend our exclusive chassis design to our mobile systems. The new Area-51m Sentia is the perfect combination of head-turning style and real world practicality."

Full marks for buzzword leveraging.
