When someone starts talking about a "WiFi Guy" and adds that it's "a combination of guerilla marketing, grassroots research and a journalism first," then my friends might suspect me of some involvement. But no ...
Actually, it seems to be a promotional effort on behalf of C I Host, an ISP in Texas (with links in Europe.)
The Wi-Fi Guy is being sponsored by them, driving across country and reporting back on matters of world importance, via hotspots. For example, when he got to Phoenix, Arizona, he was able to bring the world the scoop on the death of former NFL pro and Army Ranger volunteer, Pat Tillman, who "gave his life in Afghanistan."
No, he's not coming to Europe. And I have to say, if the web site is intended to give a great impression of C I Host, then American tastes in Internet hosting are very different from European ones ...
