Users (and T-Mobile) blame iPhone software update for bad 3G reception
by Guy J Kewney | posted on 13 August 2008
It's a classic Mac Message: "Its kind of anoying to be getting low bars and dropped calls. ever since the 2.0.2 upgrade it has been bad. Apple needs to get quick with the next upgrade and fix this problem. With the 2.0 I always had a full set of reception bars in the phone and 3G was always working, now, maaaaan its bad. But, I have faith, Apple, Please Fix This Already!"
The message is one of many on MacRumours, not all diagnosing the problem in the same way, but insisting that the iPhone 3G is not working properly.
Now the Dutch carrier T-Mobile has joined in. An official company blog (in Dutch, needs translation) says that the network is aware of the problems, and that "the problem does not lie in the network," which is the same as other HSDPA systems.
It advises users to wait for another software upgrade.
