WiFi Karts? Not what you think, unless you thought "Nintendo" first

"Mario Kart DS, as you all know, is going online using Nintendo's WiFi Connection," announces a new Tournament site. Yes, it's WiFi, but only for those who have the game and a Gameboy DS, because it's not a WiFi-controlled race, but a game played over the Nintendo DS WiFi connection.
The connection was announced in Mid-October - free WiFi in McDonalds hamburger outlets for game players; and a group of fans is trying to form around one of the games you can play wirelessly, at WiFiKarts
The game is Mario Kart DS - or will be in two weeks. "What we want to do is create a community of Mario Kart players and set up a number of tournaments and leagues," say the organisers. "We currently have 7 different leagues planned, the soonest starting on December 1st 2005, 6 days after Mario Kart's launch."
Game tournaments are familiar already of course, and Chris Brandrick and Charlie Douglas of HM-Fusion where the "community" will appear.
Is the game any good? Who needs to know... all you need is the challenge of being "the ultimate Mario Karter.
