D-Link Sells 3 Million Broadband Devices in 2004

London, 25 July 2005 — D-Link, the leading provider of networking and communication solutions to the consumer, SMB and enterprise markets, today announced that the company captured the #1 market share position for sales revenue of broadband customer premise equipment according to Infonetics Research, an international market research and consulting firm.

D-Link sold 3 million broadband devices in 2004, 39% of which equalling 1.2 million were sold exclusively across Europe, confirming the strength of D-Link across the European territory.

“Telecom Service Providers are under increasing pressure to raise revenue by delivering a bundle of high-speed data, voice, and IP video over broadband, providing this market with future growth drivers beyond Internet connectivity,” said Infonetics Research Analyst Richard Webb, who wrote the report. “D-Link has taken the lead for overall broadband CPE revenue, edging out Cisco-Linksys and Thomson; all of these vendors have DSL, cable, and router products, giving them an edge over DSL and cable specialists.”

“D-Link invests heavily in VoIP research and development to remain at the forefront of the technological trends in the CPE marketplace, where services like voice, media, wireless and storage are increasingly being integrated over IP,” said AJ Wang, Chief Technology Officer for D-Link.  “D-Link brings a host of customer connectivity and value-added solutions at leading price points to the service provider aimed at driving additional subscription revenues per month.”
