How do you make a small 5 megapixel camera phone? Make it big!

Samsung has announced several super-camera phones, but most are not available outside Korea. Unless you are determined to do a review of, for example, the SCH-S250... and can get into a CDMA cell, because this isn't a GSM phone.

The determined investigator who has achieved this is, of course, Michael Oryl of Mobile Burn. With the help of specialist phone importer Wireless Imports, and a really strong jiffy bag, Oryl has produced his  review.

Star points:

  • It's big.
  • It's heavy (143.2g, over 5 oz)
  • The Sharp display is amazing
  • The camera is "not on a par with a dedicated camera"
  • The review includes several high-res photographs so you can judge the photo quality. including macro close-up

Its flaw seems to be the "white balance" and the lack of a zoom lens; it does zoom, but not optically. Result; it works well out doors, but is a disappointing camera.

But with that 16million-colour display, it does play games wicked well...!
