Solution, based on IXI-Connect OS 1.2 and TI's OMAP850 EDGE chipset,
shortens time to market for carrier-compliant multimedia phones

3GSM WORLD CONGRESS, CANNES, France, 15 February 2005 – IXI Mobile,
developer of mobile operating system software and the inventor of PMG®
technology, today announced a combined solution for multimedia mobile
handsets using Texas Instruments Incorporated’s (TI’s) OMAP™ platform and
EDGE chipset with the IXI OS.

Designed to shorten manufacturers’ time-to-market for advanced EDGE mobile
handsets, the new design will offer a combination of IXI’s complete
multimedia feature phone operating system, IXI-Connect OS™, and TI’s
OMAP850 EDGE chipset, designed for wireless smart phones and PDAs.

Amit Haller, CEO of IXI Mobile, commented “TI’s OMAP850 solution is a
complete EDGE reference design, enabling OEMs and ODMs to deliver
multimedia feature phones for the 2005 holiday season. With the
combination of the OMAP850 hardware reference design and IXI-Connect OS
software, manufacturers have an easier path toward fulfilling the strong
market demand for advanced, carrier compliant handsets.”

Richard Kerslake, OMAP Worldwide General Manager for Cellular Systems at
Texas Instruments, added “IXI-Connect OS has built-in support for the OMAP
platform’s multimedia capabilities and offers a fast solution as all the
software components are pre-integrated. The combined solution allows
manufacturers to accelerate the handset development process.”

IXI-Connect OS is a complete, customizable and upgradeable mobile
Operating System designed specifically for feature phones and data-centric
devices. IXI-Connect OS is tailored to meet advanced mobile operator
requirements and drives adoption of new revenue generating services. IXI’s
participation in OMTP (Open Mobile Terminal Platform) ensures that IXI-
Connect OS-based handsets will be fully compliant with leading carriers’
specifications. IXI-Connect OS also features PMG (Personal Mobile Gateway)
technology, which allows a mobile phone to wirelessly Internet-enable a
variety of application-specific PMG companion devices such as messaging
terminals, watches, cameras and MP3 players.

The TI OMAP850 EDGE chipset is a high-performance applications processor
integrated with a quad-band EDGE modem. The industry’s most flexible EDGE
-capable processor, the OMAP850 processor allows scalability of a single
platform to address all handset segments targeting high-revenue data
services - from multimedia feature phones, through high-end smartphones,
up to multimedia-rich wireless PDAs.

About PMG

Personal Mobile Gateway technology (PMG®) combines cellular (e.g.
GSM/GPRS, CDMA, etc.) and short distance wireless (e.g. Bluetooth or other
technologies like WiFi), with micro-router and micro-server
functionalities. It is the point of connection between the wireless
network and a new category of affordable and best-of-breed mobile devices
for consumers (PMG Companions).

The PMG enables a new set of innovative, optimised PMG Companion devices
(e.g. messaging terminals, watches, cameras and MP3 players) that deliver
a superior user experience, while still focused on fashion and budget.
These devices cost less to manufacture, can be brought to market much
faster than ordinary mobile phones or smartphones, and generate greater
data usage. The PMG also seamlessly connects existing legacy terminals
(e.g. PDAs, laptops) with no additional client software needed.

OMAP is a trademark of Texas Instruments. IXI and PMG are registered
