Astonishing breakthrough in cable design!
by Sniffer | posted on 19 September 2003
Oh, darn. Just when our Sniffer was getting really excited, too. It seems that CommScope hasn't really launched a range of wireless cables. Or - has it?
"CommScope is the cable innovator," stated a company executive: "We were the first to introduce the superior smooth-wall cable design and now we are the first to offer a complete range of aluminum cables to the wireless industry. Extremeflex made a big impression on the carriers who field-tested it for both performance and ease of installation."
Well, it has, and it hasn't. Its new "full product line" of Extremeflex cables are, indeed, wireless cables. But (it explains) they're aluminium, broadband communications cables. Aluminum Wireless Cables in short.
"Offering wireless customers the advantages of lighter weight, greater flexibility and industry-leading performance, Extremeflex cables have now joined the CommScope Wireless product line for wireless infrastructure transmission line systems."
Sniffer likes the idea, all the same. Wireless cables; what next? Copper radio?
Full details of wireless cables from CommScope themselves ...
