Boy racers use Bluetooth?
by Guy Kewney | posted on 21 March 2003
Not all wireless applications are either sensible or business related. At CeBIT, the uses of Bluetooth ranged right down to the absurd, including car racing. Model car racing, that is.
We found a wonderful web site where this was not only described, but where they showed a photo of the race track, with people controlling model cars with Bluetooth phones. So we ran the picture, and linked to the web site, apologising for the fact that you couldn't actually see the cars ... and pointing out that there was lots of other good Bluetooth stuff there.
Unfortunately, the editor who runs the site was so upset with our "critique" of his camera skills that he withdrew permission to link to his site. Our apologies to the photographer, and to any of our readers who thought the quality of the photo was important ...
